The U.S.S. Jebediah is a nuclear submarine owned by the United States Navy.

History[edit]

After graduating from training at the Springfield Naval Reserve Base, Homer was assigned to the U.S.S. Jebediah for war games, under Captain Tenille. On board the submarine, Tenille quickly bonded with Homer and put him on charge whilst he went and investigated a blockage in torpedo tube one. Whilst Tenille was investigating, an enemy submarine attacked and Homer ordered the torpedoes be fired, which fired out Captain Tenille, killing him, leaving Homer in command.

The attack left sonar, navigation and the radio all out of commission. Homer ordered his crew to make a left and head back home but then changed his mind and ordered the submarine into Russian waters. This almost caused an international incident and Homer was accused of treason, with other ships attempting to blow up the Jebediah. After an aircraft carrier found the submarine and attacked it, the submarine started to sink. Homer used the earring that he made Bart give him to plug the hole and stop it from flooding. The submarine then surfaced and Homer had to explain his actions to everyone.
