"Mother and Child Reunion" is the twentieth episode of season 32 of The Simpsons and the seven hundred and fourth episode overall. It originally aired on May 9, 2021. The episode was written by J. Stewart Burns and directed by Jennifer Moeller. It guest stars Werner Herzog as himself, George Stephanopoulos as himself and Nate Silver as himself.
"Mother and Child Reunion" was dedicated in memory of Olympia Dukakis, who died on May 1.
Synopsis
Plot
The Simpson family goes to Werner Herzog's Magic Shop to buy a magic set for Lisa's birthday. When Bart stucks Homer in a straitjacket, Marge asks them if they'll ever stop, to which Herzog asks if they wanna see the future. He takes them to the back where he reads them the future with tarot cards.
Lisa will become president, Homer will stop drinking, and Bart will become a fine person, and there'll be years of trouble between Marge and Lisa, after deciding where she'd go to college.
