- The title of this episode is a parody of Once Upon a Time in America.
- Milhouse said that girls ruined Sex and the City.

- Krusty and Lisa sing "This Old Clown", a parody of "This Old Man".
- Krusty asks Princess Penelope to be his "princess bridge", a reference to The Princess Bride.
