- The title is a play on the food pairing of "Franks and Beans".
- Shary Bobbins, a parody of Mary Poppins, appears in the title screen gag.
- The Simpsons sing a modified version of "Twelve Days of Christmas" during the couch gag.
- On the "Upcoming Pranks" board:
- The prank "Tora Tora, Toilet" is a reference to the war film Tora! Tora! Tora!.
- "Who Let The Dogs In?" is a reference to the popular song "Who Let the Dogs Out".
- "Operation Gumbo Drop" is a parody of Operation Dumbo Drop, a comedy war film.
- "I Love the M-80's" is a reference to the American TV series I Love the '80s.
- The composition Lieutenant Kijé by Sergei Prokofiev is heard when Bart is making pranks at Springfield Elementary School.
