American Idol is an American talent show hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
History[edit]
When Lisa Simpson was given an ABC jacket, she was put into the American Idol holding pen with three others who were singing before they were all wet down.[1]
Krusty's Li'l Starmaker said they were not affiliated with American Idol and had never even heard of American Idol.[2]
Talent agent Ron Finkelsteinberg found Moe Szyslak and asked him to be a judge on reality shows. After every show except American Idol got cancelled, Moe got signed up for American Idol. Before Moe's first show, Simon Cowell told Moe that being nasty made him lonely and that he wished it wouldn't be that way for him.
During Moe's first show, the contestant performed "Happy Birthday to You". Ryan Seacrest then asked each of the judges, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres, Moe Szyslak, and Simon Cowell, what they thought of the performance. Moe decided to give her a positive review while Simon ripped into her, then ripped into Moe's comments about the contestant. Moe then got angry at Simon and smashed a bottle before threatening to rip out Simon's voice box. Moe was then taken away by security.[3]
Otto told Bart that his snow days were a distant memory, like Meg Ryan's career or last year's American Idol.[4]
