Phil Hartman is a recurring guest star from The Simpsons who played [[Lionel Hutz]] and [[Troy McClure]]. He appeared in seasons 2-10. He no longer appeared after season 10 because of his untimely death. He was murdered badly by his wife when she got drunk.He was supposed to star in a live action movie about Troy McClure who was poular at the time but the film got cancelled after his death. He was originally going to play Zapp Branigan in Futurama but when Phil died Billy West took over.

Realty Bites was Hartman's last apppearance as Lionel Hutz. Bart the Mother was his last appearance as Troy McClure and the his last appearance in the show. Even tough Bart the Mother aired after his death it was produced before his death. All Singing, All Dancing was his last produced appearance. Philip Edward "Phil" Hartman (born Philip Edward Hartmann; September 24, 1948 – May 28, 1998) was a Canadian-American comedian, film and television actor, graphic artist, and screenwriter. He voiced Lionel Hutz, Troy McClure, and other characters, until he was murdered by his third wife, Brynn, who committed suicide after she killed him, at the age of 49.
