Cultural references
- Many famous items are seen at the museum, such as the Howdy Doody puppet, Fonzie's jacket and Archie Bunker's chair.
- Lenny changes the radio station to "The Safety Dance", by the Canadian band Men Without Hats. When the song finishes, Bill and Marty refer to the band as "the Men Without Jobs", a reference to the "The Safety Dance" being their only real successful US single.
- Lisa claims Homer taped over her video tape of The Little Mermaid, which is her favorite movie; Homer believes her favorite movie is The Odd Couple.
- Homer and Lisa watch a TV show called When Animals Attack Magicians, a parody of When Animals Attack!.
- When Homer rolls on the sofa and says "that Andy Capp knew a lot" he imitates a habit of Andy Capp, a slacker drunkard starring in a well-known 1970s comic strip drawn by Reg Smithe and published in the Daily Mirror
Trivia
- A deleted scene had Marge listening in on a conversation between Helen Lovejoy and Luann Van Houten instead of Moe and Lenny. The gossip was also different, while the conversation between Moe and Lenny was about Groundskeeper Willie, Helen and Luann's conversation was about Marge and Jacques.
- This is second time Bart has a blue jacket. The first time was in "Itchy & Scratchy Land".
Goofs
- At one frame in the kitchen when Homer is holding Maggie, the walls and hinges of the kitchen are colored pink instead of light purple.
Continuity
- In the new age store, a Stonecutter logo can be seen.
