Synopsis
The Simpsons sneak into a secret town meeting to which they aren't invited and discover it's about whether to ban the family from Springfield. The town decides to evict the family, forcing them to leave town. The family moves to the The Outlands, an off-the-grid community where people are free to do almost anything. One of their new neighbors is Julian Assange. Homer and Marge try to sneak back into Springfield dressed as Mr. Burns and Smithers, but are caught and threatened to be shot. They decides it was actually better in the Outlands, so go back. After the Simpsons get used to their new life, Bart and Maggie discover that Lenny and Carl have moved in. They tell the family they want to start a new life in the Outlands, away from Springfield. Soon all of Springfield's residents move to the Outlands, and they begin to move the whole of the town.

The Simpson family are at home watching television. On Channel 6 News, Kent Brockman says it is with great sadness to inform everyone that China has declared was on America, and a massive nuclear attack is expected to reach Springfield's shores within the hour. Homer screams and puts a cushion on his head, but then Kent laughs. He says that's the sort of hypothetical emergency today's disaster prepraredness drill is designed to get them ready for. Homer sighs taking the cushion off. Kent then says that all Springfielders should move off the streets and into their homes, and to please avoid the superstitious panic which marked bay recent lunar eclipse. The screen then shows a file photo of Homer using a gas pump to shoot fire, while standing on Abe's head. Homer laughs and then says sorry, but says he was afraid the dragon wouldn't cough the moon back up. Abe calls Homer an idgit, saying the dragon always coughs the moon back up. Lisa then says she points out there is no dragon, but Homer asks why then he's paying $800 in dragon insurance. Lisa then says again she maintains money would be better spent on car insurance, but Homer says everyone knows dragons do not attack cars and to pick up a book. She says she picks up books like Homer picks up beers, and Homer says she has a serious reading problem, then. Back to Kent Brockman, who is wearing a hard hat and tells people to remember it's only a drill. He then screams the missiles really are coming, and the drill is just a way to get people into their shelters without causing chaos. After jumping behind his desk, he gets up and says that was what he would say if this weren't a drill, although he then shouts this is not a drill.
