Country Information
|
Ireland is a country in Europe. It is an island in the North Atlantic separated from the island of Britain by the Irish Sea. The island was divided in 1921 and six counties in the northeast still remain part of the United Kingdom.
History[edit]
The Simpson family once visited Ireland when Grampa told them he wanted to visit a pub he used to go, the O'Flanagan's Pub. While Homer and Grampa were at the pub, Marge and the kids visited the Blarney Castle, the Giant's Causeway and the Guinness Brewery.
Ireland is also the forefront of Europe's technical boom and has such high-tech industries as Hewlett Fitzpackard, Mick-rosoft and Cisc O'systems, something that was different when Grampa was young.[1]
In "...Six Degrees of Homer Simpson ...sort of!" Homer connected U2 to Marcel. He did this through:
- "I spoke at a U2 concert when I ran for the office of Springfield Sanitation Commissioner."
- "U2 is from Ireland."
- "Ireland is famous for exporting Lucky Charms cereal..."
- "...which are hoarderd by a leprechaun, similar to the one from Leprechaun: The Movie"
- "Leprechaun: The Movie starred Jennifer Aniston."
- "Jennifer Aniston co-starred in Friends with Marcel the monkey."[2]
