Country Information

Israel is a country in Asia. Its capital city is Jerusalem, an important city for the Islamic, Christian, and Jewish faiths as it contains holy sites from all three.
History[edit]
An old edition of the newspaper Jewish News, before it became part of the Springfield Shopper, was seen framed and hung on a wall in the Springfield Shopper office building. The paper carried the headline "State of Israel is Born" on the front page.[1]
