The episode was written by Loni Steele Sosthand and directed by Matt Faughnan. It guest stars Chloe Fineman as Tasha and Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob.[1][2][5]

Production
Originally "The Beautiful Shame" had a production code 35ABF08.[9] However, in January of 2024 "The Yellow Lotus" script was read with this code,[1] while "The Beautiful Shame" was postponed.[10]
Mike Reiss and his wife Denise will appear as cameos in the background in a flashback.[11][12]
