Talk page messages and warnings

Hi Solar. It's been about four months since the "clouds-background" talk page notification "disappeared". And the current notification system it's a bit "inefficient". It is not as visible as the clouds one, which causes users (specially new users) to ignore other users' messages or Admin warnings. My question is: Isn't there any chance to bring the clouds notification back?

I have thought that maybe adding this to Common.css

Low quality images

Hi Solar. I'm going to spend a lot of time this summer dealing with Low quality images. So, please, could you wait until I'll have lowered the number of pictures in the category to 150 (or so) images. Thanks! The category is getting flooded with images. Also, please don't add anymore S18 and S19 images to the category for now. Those seasons are not being released in DVD or Blu-Ray so it will take me a considerable amount of time to find a way to have those images in a decent quality. Uploading picture on the blog

That shouldn't happen. Can you link me to the image you were trying to upload so I can investigate? And as the others have said, you should always try to use our existing images whenever possible because there's a limited amount of disk space available for new WordPress uploads. Normally it is in bad taste to link images across websites because of bandwidth costs, but since I pay for the bandwidth either way it's okay to do so in this case. --Jake 09:06, July 9, 2015 (EDT)

Community Prizes Screen I was trying to upload the old version of this one. yeah i agree it's better to use the wiki files if there's a limit. Not sure what the issue could have been. I just managed to upload it without any problems. Let me know if any other images do this in the future. (On my talk page.) And about the limit, Topix is a Wordpress.com site so they have an upload cap set by Wordpress.com that (I assume) they can pay to upgrade. That's why you can see the limit when uploading on Topix. Our site doesn't have a cap like that, but we are of course limited by the physical amount of space on the server which you can't see from within Wordpress. --Jake 12:09, July 19, 2015 (EDT)

image problems

You have to refresh the cache to make the new image show. Ctrl + F5 usually does this. If this still doesn't work, edit the page and hit save without making any changes. As for transparency, is the image you uploaded a jpg? Transparency only works on png images. The Solar Dragon 14:46, August 18, 2015 (EDT)

Kent Brockman's "Gay" List

In "Bart's Comet", when it appears that Springfield is about to be destroyed, Kent Brockman airs a list of people that he says are gay. A lot of them seem to have their own articles (of questionable notability, BTW) and are listed as gay or lesbian, as appropriate, on the LGBT characters template. Notability issues aside, shouldn't these people be under the "hinted" categories, since the only thing we have to go on is Brockman's impending-apocalypse "outing"? -- Mythigator (talk) 20:34, August 30, 2015 (EDT)

Main Page Talk Page Vandalism

The IP vandalism edit to the Main Page Talk Page needs to be rendered invisible. A quick look at it should easily reveal why. However, I'm not sure whether I have the ability to do that, or if I do, how to go about it. -- Mythigator (talk) 03:27, September 8, 2015 (EDT)

I'm not sure if you can but if you look in history pages, next to revisions should be a checkbox. Ticking this and then going to the button "change visibility of selected revisions" should allow you to delete the revision. The Solar Dragon 06:14, September 8, 2015 (EDT)

Tab templates

Hi Solar. I've just seen there's a problem with the Tab templates. (At least with the tab templates used with episodes except from the {{Tab}} template). The problem is that the templates make a line break between them and whatever there is under them (usually the "EpisodePrevNext" templates, but that's not important). To see what happens under the tab templates:Puffless and Puffless/References. The tab templates that have this problem are {{TabR}}, {{TabA}}, {{TabC}}, {{TabG}} and {{TabQ}}. What do you think? hey I was thinking, instead of overflowing the event page (that's slowing down the loading considerably) and having to split the event in 3 pages. Why don't we create separate pages for the questlines? Like

• Issue 1
• Issue 2

Hi Solar. I created the page for the episode with the name "22 For 30" with "For" instead of "for" 'cause in the script cover it was written "For". They used to write the titles in script covers in uppercase, but they have recently not done it like that. The proper title case for "For" is "for", lower case. I went to submit the episode name to IMDb and it told me this, so I checked with titlecase.com as well and it also said that. Also, if you check Wikipedia for articles with "for" in the middle, i.e. Thanks for Nothing, it's also lowercase, and we follow Wikipedia naming conventions. I undid the edit as there was formatting problems. You left references next to the wrong names. As for his real name, I'm looking into it and trying to figure out the sources for the names. I'm fairly sure multiple sources, including an episode, have referred to him as Chester Turley. Therefore, that is likely the name we should keep as his main as only one episode has called him by that other name. Although, the fact that it's the latest episode to name him means we could use that as the name we use... Basically, it's confusing and it could be either name.

As for me undoing your other edits, I only undo edits if I have a good reason to do so. And if I make a mistake, feel free to talk to me about it or bring it up on the talk page of the article. I am not perfect and I can make mistakes.

PNG image files are definitely better quality, but in my experience JPGs are easier to obtain. Therefore, it's a very common scenario that I (for example) will be building a new article and hastily illustrate it with a JPG or two (because that's what I was able to find on short notice), but then another editor will later work on the article and put PNGs in place of the JPGs. My bot request

WikiMonitor is based off the Scratch Wiki bot. It will be made with PHP and will do four tasks. Clearing out the sandbox every four hours, telling people if they've made a page with no categories, telling people if they've forgotten to sign their post and telling people if they've over-edited a page will be the tasks the bots will do. We don't really have a problem with that sort of thing. The sandbox is rarely edited and used. Pages with no categories are hard to make since most templates add categories as well. Signing posts is sort of an issue but it's something we can easily add the unsigned templates to. There's never too many unsigned messages. And over editing pages isn't a huge issue. Sometimes, repeated edits need to be made to pages. One section at a time (like with Tapped Out character group pages). I tell people if they edit a page too much myself. New Baby Merch Line - Made in Springfield

Hey Solar, I was looking for more new info on the Skinnydip London x Simpsons Undressed collection and instead I came across a licensing site. I found out The Simpsons will have a major baby product line in 2017 called Made in Springfield.
