Hello, and welcome to Wikisimpsons!

Thank you for taking an interest in our wiki. If you have any troubles, feel free to ask questions on any experienced editors' talk page.

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as most likely yourself:

Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Preview button[edit]

The preview button is shown by a red oval

Hello, I have noticed you have been making a lot of minor changes to a page in a row. Can you please use the preview button when making lots of changes? This will show you what a page will look like after you have made your changes and will reduce the amount of edits showing up in recent changes. If you continue to make multiple edits without using the preview button, we will force you to preview your changes before you can save. Thank you, The Solar Dragon 09:53, July 20, 2015 (EDT)

Okay I understand now sorry Alicia (talk) 09:56, July 20, 2015 (EDT)

Multiple edits[edit]

Hi. Try to use the Preview Button please. Also, you can put the {{WIP}} template (the "Work in Progress" template). Just add {{WIP|<Username>}} to the top of the page you are going to work a lot on and then you will be able to do all this edits you do in one edit without worrying. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 05:28, July 21, 2015 (EDT)

Okay thanks didn't know that. Will do in the future if needed thanks Alicia (talk) 08:12, July 21, 2015 (EDT)
Could you save that edit so I can edit it and I'll try to fix it in the page. Thanks! / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 15:03, July 21, 2015 (EDT)

There saved the edit (rough guide) for you now Thanks!! (whoops posted in wrong place originally) Alicia (talk) 15:16, July 21, 2015 (EDT)

I'll try to fix it now. Wow, I posted the previous message in your talk page instead of in mine. And totally unconsciously. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 15:27, July 21, 2015 (EDT)

Thanks, Hope you manage to fix it. I just noticed that too Alicia (talk) 15:29, July 21, 2015 (EDT)

Date formats[edit]

Hello, please leave all dates in the format of Month Day, Year. (i.e. October 9, 1997, not 9th October, 1997). This is the format used throughout the wiki and all dates should be in this format. Thank you, The Solar Dragon 07:23, October 10, 2015 (EDT)

Okay will remember for next time AliciaTalk 07:53, October 10, 2015 (EDT)

Lisa Comics UK[edit]

Hello, Lisa Comics didn't actually exist in the UK, as the article you created actually states. The only story was split between Simpsons Comics issues. If a comic series doesn't exist in the UK, it shouldn't get a UK article. The stories included should be listed in the comics they appeared in. As such, I have put the Lisa Comics page up for deletion. Thank you, The Solar Dragon 09:47, October 11, 2015 (EDT)

In fact, I think we need to put together some guidelines on what should be noted on UK comic articles. I would like your input with this. Here's what I think:
  1. A comic series should only get an article if the series is released in the UK. If it's a US series and the stories are released in another series, the series shouldn't get an article.
  2. Alternate covers should only be used if they're actually an alternate cover for the comic. If it's the US version of the cover, it's not an alternate cover.
  3. Mentioning what comic the story is originally from in Stories sections is unneeded and pointless. The articles should be about the UK comic series. The original comic the story was published in will be listed on the story's article.
If there's anything else you can think of, please say so. Thank you, The Solar Dragon 09:53, October 11, 2015 (EDT)

I guess you're right about the Lisa comic

  1. I agree with that, makes sense but at the same time you could kinda disagree about it because for example the Simpsons Futurama crossover comics isn't as such a series but is because its not like "issue 1 and 2" its futurama comics 3 4 17 and Simpsons 103 because the logo of the issues are not the usual and such as covers, and a different example all the bart & co comics with the ones shots in them are pull out able (as in in the middle 20 or so pages of some bart & co comics feature one shots but are pull out able) so in a way its could be seen as a series inside a series
  2. I can see where you're going but maybe it shouldn't be called "alternate cover" its usually the poster thats included or featured somewhere as a pin-up so it could be rename to "poster" or perhaps remove it but keep it inside the comic page instead of "alternate cover" "poster"
  3. I thought it was a good idea because it tells you where the original series's stories came from in what UK issues in one page

AliciaTalk 11:12, October 11, 2015 (EDT)

  1. Well, the Simpsons/Futurama crossover comics can just as easily have the UK details in the same page as the US details. It wasn't a comic series to my knowledge.
  2. We should have actual images of the posters, and they don't belong on the series pages. They belong in the articles for the individual comics. They don't need to be in the series pages.
  3. The comics the stories come from aren't relevant to the UK series pages. It's relevant to the story, not the comic series. That's my reasoning for wanting them our of the articles. The Solar Dragon 15:12, October 11, 2015 (EDT)
  1. You lost me, what do you mean?
  2. Okay
  3. Okay

Bart & Co[edit]

Hi, is there any chance you can help out with Bart & Co comic listings? The information regarding them is rather lacking. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 07:35, December 8, 2015 (EST)
