Mark Kirkland is a long-time animation director on the series who currently serves as supervising director. He is the son of Douglas Kirkland. He has directed the most Simpsons episodes, a total of 92.

- At the time "D'oh-in' in the Wind" was being produced, Kirkland was going through a divorce, so Matthew Nastuk took over the directorial duties for the first act.
