"loll" and "led" in The Simpsons Movie/Transcript
The transcript page was full of "loll" where it should have been "I'll" and "led" where it should have been "I'd". Can you think of any more words where this could have happened? | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 09:20, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- It seemed to happen here. While a few of the "LF" was changed to "IF" (in lowercase ofc), the I'ds and I'lls became leds and lolls... Those are some weird changes. | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 09:25, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- Best way to fix it would be to copy and paste into Notepad and use the find and replace function. Not sure if what Cook did was something like that, except something went wrong. It could well have been. The Solar Dragon 09:32, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- Yeah, I've done that for the two I know of, but it's a bit tricky to not make mistakes when you're editing a 50k-word page. Words like "pulled" should actually have the "led". | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 09:37, August 22, 2014 (EDT)

ComicTabC
The template makes my sidebar go down a size and move inside the main content area. It first happened after this edit. | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 17:15, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- Everything's fine to me. Which skin are you using? The Solar Dragon 17:29, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- Vector. MonoBook also gets this happening to it. (The links are previews of the skins on the ComicTabC page). | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 17:38, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- Think I fixed it. Although Monobook still looks a bit off... The Solar Dragon 17:51, August 22, 2014 (EDT)
- Yeah, the sidebar on MonoBook is getting pushed below the content area. | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 18:00, August 22, 2014 (EDT)

Featured Article Link
The featured article on the main page is currently the Screamapillar, but it (the image) actually links to the Alice Glick article. Maybe that was the previous feature? Lustomatical (talk) 17:09, August 26, 2014 (EDT)

Barbarian Homer
Hey, would you be able to grab the pic of the notice when Barbarian Homer levelled up to 10? My device powered off and couldn't get the photo. Thanks, ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 04:55, August 29, 2014 (EDT)
Tapped Out
You have the game files, right? I remember PMing Outerhaven on the Tapped Out forum months ago and he said you had the game files. ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 06:43, August 30, 2014 (EDT)
- I'm sorry, I can't access them any more. I used my iPod to get into the files but my iPod was a pain in the ass, so I ended up getting rid of it. I no longer have access to the files. The Solar Dragon 08:38, August 30, 2014 (EDT)

Simpsons World the Ultimate Episode Guide: Seasons 1-20
Why is it interesting information that a character appears in this book? After all it is harder to find someone who is not mentioned in it. --2F13 (talk) 07:49, August 31, 2014 (EDT)
- Well, I've only listed appearances for characters who appeared as a factfile in the book. I don't do it if they just appear in a picture of quote. The Solar Dragon 09:02, August 31, 2014 (EDT)
- Eeerr... Steve Mobbs (page 973) has a reference to the book in Appearances section but Muk Mu on the next page has not. I don't understand the principle yet. :-) --2F13 (talk) 13:16, August 31, 2014 (EDT)
Wikisimpsons Answers Spam Users
Hi Solar! When a registered Spam Account puts spam comments or spam questions in Wikisimpsons Answers, should we block it from here(from Wikisimpsons site)?? And if so, should we add a Block Reason like "Spam in Wikisimpsons Answers" ?? / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 11:55, August 31, 2014 (EDT)
- Yes, block here. It also blocks on Answers. And just putting the usual spam notice will be fine. The Solar Dragon 12:23, August 31, 2014 (EDT)

I can't edit semi-protected pages =(
Hi Solar! I was going to edit the Robin Williams article, adding the section "Behind the Laughter", because he died in real life. But it turned out that article is semi-protected and i can't edit the semi-protected pages like before. Those 3 months of blockade were brought me terrible consequences. Would you give me the trusted rights again?. Greetings! --Barthony70099 Eat my shorts! Ay Caramba! 15:37, September 6, 2014 (EDT)
- Why on earth did Myth set an article like that to only-admins after one false edit...? | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 15:59, September 6, 2014 (EDT)
- He probably did it just to prevent from more false edits. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 16:42, September 6, 2014 (EDT)
- When a celebrity dies, people often change the character status to deceased, even when the character wasn't mentioned to have been dead in the episode. Therefore, it's common practice to protect it, usually after the first bad edit. The Solar Dragon 17:12, September 6, 2014 (EDT)

- The day Williams died, I set the article to semi-protected status, and two minutes after that some schmuck changed the status of the Williams character from Alive to Deceased. Male Cast template
- Hey Solar! I've seen that in some pages you (your bot) changed
gender= Male/Female
togender= {{Male/Female cast))
instead ofgender= {{Male/Female cast}}
. You should use your bot to fix those pages. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 19:56, September 12, 2014 (EDT)
- Hi again Solar! First of all, it was only with the Male Cast template the Female Cast was OK. Secondly, I'm fixing it with AutoWikiBrowser, so you don't have to worry about this. And Finally, I want to Apologize to You and the whole wiki for having flooded RecentChanges. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 20:38, September 12, 2014 (EDT)
- Hi Another time Solar! I've used AWB to change
{{Male cast)) to {{Male cast}}
, but I haven't changed it on all of the pages with that mistake. There still are some pages that need that to be changed. Could you finish this with your Bot so I don't flood more the Recent Changes page. Thanks, Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 21:38, September 12, 2014 (EDT)- if you create a bot account, like by SolarBot account, I can give that bot privileges so it doesn't flood recent changes. Unwanted categories I accidentally added to some pages
Hey Solar! Could you use your Bot to remove some categories I accidentally added to some pages with AWB. The categories are Category:Living People
and Category:19xx Births
. Thanks Solar! I would do it myself with AWB but I don't want to flood Recent Changes. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 15:28, September 13, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, I'm on it. Removing the birth categories is going to be harder as I have to remove each individually though. Plus, removing them is easier with Pywikipediabot. So I'm using that instead. Make sure you have the general changes box unticked in future. That's the one that adds the categories. The Solar Dragon 15:43, September 13, 2014 (EDT)

Skin change? Or template change?
On the References and Appearances tabs for episodes and comic stories, the "[edit]" links for the sections are on the far left, rather than the far right. Is this from a recent change, or something I'm just now noticing? The position of the edit links makes the pages look awkward, particularly the References tabs. I use the MonoBook skin, so I'm wondering it might be a result of a change to the skin ... ? -- Mythigator (talk) 13:29, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
- Yes, this has happened in later versions of MediaWiki. It should be on all pages, not just those, but I have no idea why it isn't. The Solar Dragon 13:43, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
- Actually, I'd prefer for it to be gone from those pages. On the References pages in particular, having the edit links on the left really screws up the outline layout. But if that's not possible, I understand. -- Mythigator (talk) 13:50, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
- Yeah, it's a change that happened recently. It should be on the left for all the pages. I'm really not sure why it isn't. It might be possible to move it though, let me look into it. The Solar Dragon 13:59, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, it's not a MediaWiki thing, it's to do with the templates. I tried to fix it, but in doing so I send the sidebar halfway down the page and I couldn't fix this. I thought having the edit buttons on the left would be better than having to scroll down to find the sidebar so I've left it... I'm sorry I couldn't find a proper fix. Editing tables
Hi. I don't know if you're the right one to ask but I'm having difficulty finding any documentation on how to edit tables in the style used on this wiki, e.g. on the page I want to edit. From what I can see, you're running MediaWiki and MediaWiki's documentation states a certain style for creating tables. But that's not the type of tables used on this Wiki, even though Help:Table_markup states that MediaWiki's style should be used. You're using something that looks like special templates. Are these documented anywhere? Normann (talk) 18:07, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
- That page is severely outdated. I'll give it a proper haul over at some point. The basics are documented in Template:Table. There are some more advanced features which you can see by looking at other tables I guess. The Solar Dragon 18:17, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, I've made a start to reworking Help:Table markup now. I'll continue working on it. The Solar Dragon 18:43, September 18, 2014 (EDT)
ConfirmEdit extension
I think you might want to take a look at this: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit. It really could prevent spambots from registering on this wiki. I'm not kidding. :) Or is there one already instealled? If so, maybe there needs to be some necessary tweaking. I'm just trying to help out. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 20:33, September 23, 2014 (EDT)
- Our spam problem used to be a lot bigger than it is right now. I would delete one spam page and block the user and there would be 2 or 3 more pages when I checked recent changes. ConfirmEdit helped a lot and reduced the amount of spam to what it is today. If you check Special:Version, you can see what extensions we have installed. Thanks for the suggestion but we already have it there. The Solar Dragon 03:59, September 24, 2014 (EDT)
Running bot; is there an archive?
I operated a bot in the "big" Wikipedia years ago. I could repair lot of articles with it here too. However somehow I have to collect title of articles that suffer a specific problem. Is it possible to download the archived Wikisimpsons pages at once like in Wikipedia? --2F13 (talk) 15:05, September 24, 2014 (EDT)
- I'm sorry but I'm confused as to what exactly you're asking for. The Solar Dragon 15:20, September 24, 2014 (EDT)
See this and for example this page. One can download all of contents in a form of single compressed file. So it is possible to scan raw text of all wiki pages with a program in order to find specific error. E.g. Wikisimpsons:Style_Guide_Episodes#Quotes_tab writes that The character's name should be put in a bold, along with a colon, also in bold. In million times colon is outside of bold marks. I could fix this my robot but first I have to "grep" the archive in order to find pages to repair. I don't want to crawl the site on-line like Google Search engine does. --2F13 (talk) 00:45, September 25, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, I see now. I thought it might have been something like that but I wasn't sure. If you want access to a database dump, you'll have to ask our server manager, Jake. I'd suggest emailing him. However, I'm not sure how long it will take for him to get back to you as he's been pretty busy lately. The Solar Dragon 03:40, September 25, 2014 (EDT)

With your permission,
I was wondering if it would be okay for me to upload a pic of Krusty the Clown, Professor Frink and Doc Brown for the Back to the Future wiki, Futurepedia (http://backtothefuture.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page). To explain, Krusty and Frink were deemed suitable for a brief article due to their appearance with Doc Brown in one of The Simpsons Ride video, and of course, it couldn't hurt to have a Simpsonized version of Doc.
I'll be sure to provide credit to this wikia for their inclusion of course if the upload is okay with you. Antiyonder (talk) 15:08, September 27, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, firstly, we're not a "wikia", we're a "wiki". Wikia is an evil corporation who only cares about money and doesn't care about its users. Secondly, images are owned by FOX, we don't own them, you're free to use images from our wiki anywhere. The Solar Dragon 15:23, September 27, 2014 (EDT)
- Ok, thanks. Antiyonder (talk) 15:28, September 27, 2014 (EDT)
- On the note of Doc Brown, would he qualify for the crossover character category? Antiyonder (talk) 16:15, September 27, 2014 (EDT)
- Sorry for bumping in, but does Wikisimpsons care about its users, unlike Wikia? It also seems that Wikia is where most newbies edit at (and where 1,000,000+ junk wikis are created). Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 16:20, September 27, 2014 (EDT)
- Yes, we care about our users. If anyone has any complaints, we'll listen to them. If they're reasonable complaints, we'll try and work to fix them. If anyone has any suggestions, we'll look into putting that into use. Meanwhile, Wikia staff butt into wikis, demote admins without talking to the community, block users without warning, claim discussions as "closed", even when they're not and then refuse to delete wikis when the ENTIRE COMMUNITY moves away. So many wikis moved away back in 2011. Because Wikia screwed up. The new skin was designed to make money. Users complained about not wanting the skin, Wikia forced it on us. They didn't listen, even though 90% of the users didn't like it. The Solar Dragon 16:40, September 27, 2014 (EDT)

"The Simpsons Guy"
Do characters, crew members and so forth from "The Simpsons Guy" get an article here? Just wondering :P --Fred (Talk • Contribs. • Editcount) 08:06, September 28, 2014 (EDT)
- I'm going to say yes. The same will go for Simpsorama. The Solar Dragon 10:18, September 28, 2014 (EDT)
- Do they really have to get an article? I mean, it is a Family Guy episode after all, not a simpsons episode. So I think that only named characters should get articles. And I'm not sure about some things in that episode getting an article like "Modern Family" or "For Pete's Sake". On the other hand, I would consider that the characters and crew and so from Simpsorama should get an article since it will be a Simpsons episode after all. I think a discussion on this should be opened. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 15:35, October 2, 2014 (EDT)
- It's my opinion that we should treat this as a Simpsons special, so everything in the episode should get articles if it falls under the notability policy. However, if you want to open a discussion about it, feel free to do so. I'd like to see other opinions. The Solar Dragon 15:44, October 2, 2014 (EDT)
- I see your point. It's a Family Guy episode but we ought to treat it as a Special. I agree with this, if we treat it as a special, then all the things in the episode should get an article. Anyway, I think that the Crossovers Section in the Notability Policy page should only be for the "Family Guy" or non-simpsons episodes. I'm feeling as if all I'm said now has not much sense at all. But anyway, I think that the Notability Policy should undergo some little changes, like those that you suggested some months ago. / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 16:49, October 2, 2014 (EDT)

Halloween
Just out of curiosity, when's our Halloween design going back up? ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 13:31, September 30, 2014 (EDT)
- In theory, it should automagically change when the wiki's clock hits midnight. However, if not... well, I have no idea as Jake seems to be out of contact... The Solar Dragon 13:35, September 30, 2014 (EDT)

Wikisimpsons Answers
Hey, for some reason I can't log in to Wikisimpsons Answers. I click "Login" and enter my username and password, but whenever I click "Login", it takes me back to the same page, but still not logged in? Any probs your end? (Is this a question I should be directing to Jake?) ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 11:35, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, I used to have this problem too. Are you using HTTPS on Wikisimpsons? There should be a box to tick to log in with it. It was a problem with that that wouldn't let me log in on both before, although it works now. Try logging in without it and seeing if there's any difference. If it works, try logging in again with HTTPS and seeing what happens. The Solar Dragon 11:37, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- There doesn't appear to be any HTTPS box on the login page, or am I being dumb? It's in the address bar though. ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 11:43, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- The box that says "Stay Connected to HTTPS after log in" or something like that. The Solar Dragon 11:44, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- Nope, nothing there except the login boxes, "This is a secure Wikisimpsons page. Your login information will be submitted securely." and "© 2014 Wikisimpsons The Simpsons® 20th Century Fox 0.000 secs" ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 11:47, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- Have you tried logging in via Wikisimpsons? Your account should be linked and it should log you in on Answers too. Log out of here and back in again. The Solar Dragon 11:50, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- Did that, now I can't login at all. Ticking HTTPS box or not ticking HTTPS box. 146.200.39.74 11:56, October 1, 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, are you sure you're using the correct password? That's the only thing I can think of now... The Solar Dragon 11:57, October 1, 2014 (EDT)

30K Articles
Hi Solar! Now that we've got to 30k articles, I think that our Facebook & Twitter pages should be updated. I mean the description part of those pages where it says that Wikisimpsons has over 20.000/25.000 articles should say over 30.000 articles! / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 08:55, October 4, 2014 (EDT)
The Simpsons Guy trivia
Did you know that there was some controversy before the episode aired on Fox due to the rape joke Stewie Griffin used which the Parent's Televison Council, a long time critic of Family Guy tried to keep it from being aired with the rest of the episode. Here are a few sources that can verify this. [1][2]. 73.190.124.47 07:58, October 5, 2014 (EDT)
- I've read about that. Add it to The Simpsons Guy/References if you want. / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 08:55, October 5, 2014 (EDT)
Sourcing
Hey Solar! After all this 'little' thing with Coolio I've thought that Wikisimpsons should have a Sourcing policy. What do you think about it? It's just an idea. I've created a provisional page for it. / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 17:00, October 8, 2014 (EDT)
- I'm going to turn it into a whole sourcing and referencing policy, including in-universe information, how to reference, when referencing should be used, etc. The Solar Dragon 17:17, October 8, 2014 (EDT)
- That's a good idea. You can use my provisional page if you want to start it off. / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 17:20, October 8, 2014 (EDT)
Coolio
I must report that user Coolio has once again been disruptive editing on the page Donnie Fatso/References, I have corrected the page but I thought it would be best to let you know. Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 02:11, October 9, 2014 (EDT)
- People make edits like that all the time. People either don't pay attention to all the facts or think that things are more notable than they are. It's not disruptive editing and I will not block users for that. The Solar Dragon 04:39, October 9, 2014 (EDT)
Theater
I created a new article for the "Scary Movie" short's theater (refer to headline). It's my first time with a new location article on this wiki, so mistakes are to be expected. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 11:46, October 11, 2014 (EDT)
- It's pretty good apart from a couple of problems. I made the changes, as you can see here. The Solar Dragon 11:53, October 11, 2014 (EDT)
- There's also the Re-Neducation Center article. It needs some layout fixing, but I can't figure out some of it... And are you sure that Theater is in Springfield? The shorts are known to not mention that location. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 11:55, October 11, 2014 (EDT)
I understand that I can't edit templates without your permission
Hi Solar! Now I understand that I can't edit Wikisimpsons templates, unless I get your permission to edit. I will not make mistakes anymore. Sometimes i edit the article several times because have an ortographic error. I was blocked 1 year in the Spanish Wikipedia. Today my account is unlocked. WikiAnthony is my Wikipedia account. First Wikipedia now Wikisimpsons, no please, I don't want to block. I will not make mistakes anymore. Greetings! --Barthony70099 Eat my shorts! Ay Caramba! 14:20, October 16, 2014 (EDT)
- Firstly, I am not a dictator. It's not "my permission" you have to get, it's the community's. Secondly, that's what the preview button is for, not making errors. And to be honest, I think it's only a matter of time before you make one more mistake and get blocked. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm expecting to block you pretty soon. I don't want to block anybody, except spambots and vandals, but I have to spend a lot of time cleaning up after you. The Solar Dragon 14:31, October 16, 2014 (EDT)
Promo images' size
Hey Solar, I've lately noticed that you now upload new Promotional Images for new episodes with a huge size. I was wondering if it is because of the new "style" of FoxFlash? / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 15:50, October 18, 2014 (EDT)
- Yes, they're the smallest I can download them as and I generally can't be bothered to resize them. :P The Solar Dragon 16:21, October 18, 2014 (EDT)

Wikisimpsons Answers
I hope I didn't break any rules by asking a fun slightly Halloween-themed question on Wikisimpsons Answers. It was a question, after all. No vulgar material. As for the Lizzie Borden article, how would you appropriately give the Wikipedia link? Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 14:34, October 29, 2014 (EDT)
- We have the {{W}} template, which is used all over the wiki. However, I added it as an external link instead, using {{Wikipedialink}}. As for the question you asked, that's not the sort of question that should be asked on Answers, so I'll probably close it when sober. The Solar Dragon 14:46, October 29, 2014 (EDT)

Question About Personal Images
Excuse me, but why does one of AleWi's subpages have more than three images that aren't used on articles themselves, or even this subpage? Am I missing some information about the userpage image policy? Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 13:29, November 1, 2014 (EDT)
- Pages that are intended to be mainspaced are exempt from the rule. Those both fall under that. The Solar Dragon 13:43, November 1, 2014 (EDT)
- They don't quite belong in the mainspace, although they are informative. Is that an exception too? Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 10:59, November 4, 2014 (EST)
Silverman
Did you say a while back you'd got in contact with David Silverman and he could answer any questions we had? If so, could you ask him about the untitled short that was storyboarded and never aired? Thanks, ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 06:41, November 2, 2014 (EST)
- Also, completely unrelated, but how did you work out (for the UFO drops) the percentages from the chance value? Outerhaven's given me some statistics for Treat Bags and the like and can't remember how to work out the percentages from the chance value.
