Plot
A panoramic of Springfield is shown, with a billboard saying Welcome to Springfield. Come for Whacking Day, stay for the snake chowder and a text engraved in the corn field next to Cletus's farm saying Corn likker sold here, before zooming in the Springfield Academy of Music, where the class of 1999 are graduating. Dewey Largo is one of the winners of the Golden Baton Award, but Gustavo Dudamel, the other winner, strangles him in dark energy after the university president says to him he's going to be just a school teacher.
Largo then wakes up from the nightmare next to his partner. After seeing Jimbo, Kearney and Dolph uncover a manhole, from which Sideshow Bob escapes, his everyday morning with his partner and dog is shown. At School, Largo is teaching music, when he receives an email from Victor Kleskow, the musical director of the Capital City Philarmonic, saying he'll be attending his concert the next night, so he starts training them with The Stars and Stripes Forever.
The concert is a success, but Largo is sad when Victor chooses Lisa as the talent to take with him. Homer and Marge struggles to find a way to make it work in bed, and Homer proposes to sell his boxset of Breaking Bad too. Once they arrive at Capital City, Lisa finds how hard it is with Victor when she sees the states the kids are in and how just one mistakes make him angry.
To pay for it, Homer starts working the night shift too, while Bart is confined in a closet with the siblings of the musicians, and Lisa wins the 1st chair for sax in a competition with another kid, but she finds out how selfish she's become on this, disregarding her family.
Victor proposes to Lisa to advance to the next class, 9 to 14, which costs more and is farther away. Homer starts hallucinating during his shift too, dancing and drinking with the bartender Lloyd. To avoid more problems, Homer disregards Maggie's talents, while Lisa instead fails on purpose, killing her career to save the family. In the end, Largo and his boyfriend arrive at home, with him kicking his love out, but when he agrees on the name of the dog, all is solved.
