Michigan is one of the 50 states in the US. Its capital city is Lansing.
History[edit]
Homer is watching a football game on Thanksgiving at the Silverdome, in Pontiac, Michigan.[1]
The Simpsons travel to Detroit to visit Homer's long-lost half brother Herb Powell.[2]
The boxes made at Springfield's box factory are assembled in Flint.[3]
After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family was trying to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They were looking at a map of the US that had most of states crossed out, which were apparently all the states that the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter.[4]
Bode Wright used to live and work in Traverse City, Michigan.[5][6]

In the future, Michigan is under sharia law and Christmas is not observed in the state. Every time he visits, though, he is made to wear a burqa, particularly at the University of Michigan.[7]

In Michigan a woman's hair is entirely owned by her husband.[8]
