- When Duffman went to the hospital, Barney remembered the time when mascots Joe Camel and Frito Bandito were removed.
- Eye drops brand Eyesine is a reference to real world drops Visine produced by Johnson & Johnson.
- The show So You Think You Can Duff? is a parody of So You Think You Can Dance?.
- Electronica artist Der Zip Zorp uses a Daft Punk-like helmet.
- The intro advert for Homer as Duffman is a parody of Game of Thrones.
