The Gevrey-Chambertin Wine is a bottle of Gevrey-Chambertin wine that was owned by Napoleon Bonaparte.

History[edit]

Mr. Burns bought the bottle of Gevrey-Chambertin Wine for $1 million and had it shipped to Springfield. Smithers tasked Homer with getting it to Burns safely. Smithers told Homer that the bottle of wine was the reason that Napoleon fought the Battle of Austerlitz. As soon as Smithers left, the bottle of wine went missing. Homer then noticed that Mrs. Vanderbilt was about to use the bottle to christen the ship The Upper Decker. He dived into the way to save the bottle, but it rolled away and was almost broken at a Jewish wedding. Homer once again used his body to save the bottle, which then ended up going into a swingers party, where it was used for a game of spin the bottle. Homer grabbed the wine and left, but the bottle ended up in a line of cans and bottles that the Spuckler children were shooting at with BB guns. Homer managed to get the bottle, but was shot repeatedly.

Homer started going to Burns' manor, but ended up at home instead. He then put the bottle in the garage safe and went to take a nap. When he woke up, he found that Marge had cooked dinner. She told Homer that she had put wine in the stew and Homer was horrified to find out that it was the bottle of Gevrey-Chambertin Wine that he put in the safe, as there was a hole in the safe through to the kitchen cupboards. When Smithers arrived to find out why Homer hadn't delivered the wine yet, he was shocked to find that Marge was responsible for the wine being used up.

Homer then convinced Marge and Smithers to cover up the wine's disappearance. They went to Professor Frink, who managed to replicate the wine from the last few drops in the bottle. Smithers then took it to Mr. Burns' wine club, where the club members couldn't tell the difference.

Emboldened by this, Marge and Smithers created another fake bottle to sell, with the intention of using the money for good. However, they were arrested for wine forgery and put on trial at Springfield Wine Court.
