Synopsis
- "Lisa and Bart investigate Krusty's suspicious new "Krustaceans" candy. Meanwhile, Homer wants a promotion at the nuclear plant and asks Marge to help him dress the part, and news anchor Kent Brockman struggles to find his feet in the changing media world."
Plot
Bart and Lisa are watching Krusty's show, and after showing The Itchy and Scratchy Show's episode Mousetrapping a Murderer, Krusty introduces his new product, Krustacean, a candy that even Krusty likes, which Bart already received thanks to Krusty Prime.
Meanwhile, at the Power Plant, Homer finds out that Tibor Jankovsky, an employee that barely speaks English, just got a corner office, with many commodities, and thanks to his Ambition, having freed itself in his brain from being held in a cell by Apathy and Alcoholism, Homer is pushed to change to get a higher chance of a promotion, by changing his clothes.
Grampa was watching with other war veterans at a bar The Late Late Late Night with Jimmy Jimmy, with special guest Kent Brockman, where Kent starts telling false war stories. However, a Iraq War veteran unveils his lies and get him to apologyse on Channel 6 News for all the lies he has told in his career. This was however his last news report, as he was fired and replaced by Arnie Pye, and thrown out of Channel 6, losing his phone and his car too.
Meanwhile Homer asks Marge for help on changing his clothes, with Marge being surprised by this sudden change and agreeing to help him. In the School Bus, Lisa finds some strange behaviour in kids eating Krustacean, and convinces Bart to take a look at the factory producing it.
Marge and Homer enter the Springfield Mall and Rod Lewin's "Restricted"™ Lifestyle Gallerium, where Homer completely changes his style to look completely new. After coming out of the mall, they meet Kent, which tries to interview them but Homer refuses.
Bart and Lisa arrives at the factory, where they find out that the candy is made out of chemicals and produced by rotots, so they steal samples of the product.
Kent is depressed and asks his agent for a new job but he fails to take on an offer. Homer meanwhile successfully presents himself to Lenny and Carl in the new suit and prepares himself for the next step.
Bart and Lisa take the samples to Professor Frink that identifies they contain Formaldehyde. Lisa brings them to Channel 6 for them to make a story out of it but they refuse, with Krusty being one of their biggest star and Formaldehyde being one of their biggest sponsor.
Kent keep trying to find a new job, but even BizzFad is a fail when they declare bankrupt after talking to him. Meanwhile Homer goes to Mr. Burns to ask for the promotion but Burns doesn't like the new style and refuses to, kicking him (and Smithers) on the jacket too.
Bart and Lisa try to ask Kent to present their stories but he refuses. At the Former Anchor Support Group Meeting, Kent is helped by the others and considers Lisa's offer.
Back at home, Homer tells Marge what happened and how he failed, but his Ambition can't help much this time as it's thrown out of his ear by Apathy, Alcoholism, Anger and Awe, so he goes to Moe's.
Lisa and Kent go to Krustylu Studios to confront Krusty on his lies and succeed filming it. The story brings Kent back on his job and he stops saying lies, also thanking Lisa.
