"I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say D'oh" is the 20th episode of season 30 of The Simpsons. It aired on April 7, 2019.
Synopsis
- "Marge becomes Director of Springfield's local theater, armed with Lisa's script resembling "Hamilton." Meanwhile, Homer joins a baby class with Maggie, where he takes a liking to supervisor Chloe."
Plot
At the Springfield Playhouse, Llewellyn Sinclair is auditing for 'Oklahoma!' rehearsal with Marge in it too, while Homer takes Maggie to the Springfield Kid Kennel, where they meet Chloe, discovering why so many people were in line to get in, her being very attractive.
The rehearsal goes bad when Sinclair's attitude turns everyone against him and expel him, and everyone start destroying the set, only to have Marge stop the madness and take the director role, however she needs a show that can be done in Springfield and Lisa proposes one about Jebediah Springfield, a parody of Hamilton
At Kid Kennel, Homer keeps being distracted by Chloe, while Lisa prepares the script and Marge dresses up for the occasion, hitting Moe's Tavern for a drink before going in. The musical will be called Bloody, Bloody Jebediah, and Krusty will be showing it on tv, recording it outside in the city.
Sideshow Mel leaves the role of Jebediah, and Marge finds herself short. At the Kennel, Chloe leaves with one of the fathers, Berry, and Homer finds out the part that Maggie liked best was spending time with him. Marge auditions the new role, finding out Professor Frink's beautiful singing voice, just to find out that it'll rain during the play.
During a commercial break, it starts pouring and John Lithgow, Jebediah's bear, starts sinking into a puddle, so Lisa improvises the finale and the play is a success. When the crowd starts applauding Marge and she comes out of the production van she's hit by the water and taken away.
At the awards, Sideshow Mel wins the Outstanding lead performance in a play or musical, while Marge's play with 10 nominations, wins none. Sinclair starts nagging her about it when she wins the award for Best newcomer.
