Cultural references[edit]
- The episode title is a pun on Bad Behaviour.
- The blackboard text is a reference to the FXX 13-days marathon, showing all the first 600th episodes of the show in a row.
- In the beginning of the episode, Homer attempts to assemble Scandinavian furniture. The boxes contain a numbering system similar to that of IKEA, the popular Swedish company that sells ready-to-assemble furniture.
- Many of the items' names contain the letter Å, part of the Swedish alphabet. The building instructions are in French, Swedish, German and English language.
- In Outstanding College Mascot Fights two of the mascots are the Stanford Tree, the unofficial mascot of Stanford University, and Tulane Green Wave, representing Tulane University.
- The ChoreMonkey app is a parody of TaskRabbit, while Uburp parodies Uber, in particular Uber Eats.
- Homer sings a version of the chorus of the Steely Dan's song "Dirty Work".
- Homer is amazed to see Heisman Trophy-winner Matt Leinart playing in his backyard. The Heisman Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding player in college football in the United States.
- When Matt let some air out of the football, it referenced the Deflategate scandal.
- Leinart's Thai-Irish fusion restaurant is called Shamrock Spice, referring to the shamrock clover of Ireland and the typically spicy food of the Thai cuisine.
- Leinart gives Bart an O.J. Simpson's jersey with his number 32. He also calls Bart "Little Juice", in a reference to "The Juice", O.J. Simpson's nickname.
- When trying to attempt filming a funny video for America's Funniest Home Videos TV series, Kirk orders Milhouse to call Vin Di Bona Productions after the video is recorded. This company was in charge of the production of the 1989 TV series.
- Milhouse offers his dad one of his "children's" Xanax, a potent tranquilizer.
- Kirk asks Milhouse to play "Nobody Does It Better" by Carly Simon in his funeral.
- Bart and Matt Leinart play Monopoly, the famous board game.
- Leinart tries to exchange "Boardwalk" and "Park Place", the two most expensive properties with the highest rent revenue, for "Ventnor Avenue", a much cheaper property.
- Matt Leinart mentions board game Trivial Pursuit.
- Homer compares Milhouse to Tony Stark, the character from Marvel.
- Bart and Homer play a video game called PGA Tour of Duty, a reference to Call of Duty: Zombies and the PGA Tour series.
- On the video game, professional Fijian golfer Vijay Singh is playing at St Andrews, Scotland. The town is considered the "home of golf".
- One of the zombies is singer and TV personality Bing Crosby.
- The scene showing Grampa with his father is done in the old black and white Popeye cartoons style.
- Bart is able to get a Forever stamp.
- Homer sings "What Do You Do with a Drunken Homer?", a parody of the sailor shanty "What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor?".
- During the song, Homer mentions the 1990 submarine spy thriller film The Hunt for Red October.
- Marge threw away Lisa's Utne Reader.
- The ghost of Abe comes out of his ashes in a way similar to Genie from Disney's Aladdin.
- Itchy & Scratchy's Injury 500, the go-kart ride at Itchy & Scratchy Land, is a pun on the Indianapolis 500 automobile race.
- The music playing during the kart chase and the end credits was made by Alf Clausen and Greg Prechel, and is an homage to the songs from the Fast and the Furious franchise.[1]
- At the end of the episode, the message "We'll miss you Vin Scully" appears, as he retired from his sports broadcaster career in 2016, the year this episode aired.
Trivia[edit]
- This is the first episode that is now produced by Fox Television Animation after Film Roman ended their production. But remained uncredited.
- The couch gag part where the television slides down some media equipment continues in the episode itself.
Goofs[edit]
- The kitchen table is out of sight when Homer walks across the kitchen singing, but it reappears on the next scene.
- Contrary to what is said in the episode, it's not the first time that Bart calls Homer "dad" instead of Homer.
- When Grampa tells Homer that his girlfriend is pregnant, the number on his door disappears.
