Michigan is one of the 50 states in the US. It's capital city is Lansing.

History

Homer is watching a football game on Thanksgiving at the Silverdome, in Pontiac, Michigan.[1]

After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family was trying to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They were looking at a map of the US that had most of states crossed out, which were apparently all the states that the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter.[2]

Bode Wright used to live and work in Traverse City, Michigan.[3][4]

In the future, Michigan is under sharia law and Christmas is not observed in the state. Allergy sufferer Milhouse, who is allergic to many Christmas-related things, has spent more than one Christmas in Michigan in order to get relief from his allergies. Every time he visits, though, he is made to wear a burqa, particularly at the University of Michigan.[5]

Trivia

In Michigan a woman's hair is entirely owned by her husband.[6]
