- The episode title may be a reference to and/or pun on the 1983 comedy film Risky Business.
- Homer, Lenny, Carl, Moe and Bart were singing How Deep Is Your Love by Bee Gees.
- Marge mentions Dumbo and explains the plot to Moe. Lisa compares Moe to Dumbo and says "We're that flock of racist crows?". Homer then says "The crows weren't racist the people who drew them were". Referencing that early cartoons would have stereotypical jokes that today would be controversial.
