- The title of the episode is a parody of the film A Father's Will.
- Bart plays with a dissected frog and puts its intestines on its head, making it look like a Rastafari. He includes several Rastafari-related terms when he describes the frog:
- Bart says that by examining its "Natty Dreads", he was able to deduce it was a "jammin' Rasta-frogian". "Natty Dreads" refers to the Natty Dreadlocks. "Natty Dread" and "Jamming" are also songs by Bob Marley.
- He also mentions "Pass the Dutchie", the famous song by the British band Musical Youth, and Rasta terms such as "slabba-slabba" and "Babylon".
- Marge searches for "I wonder if anyone talks about parenting online" on Oogle, a parody of Google.
