"The War of Art" is the fifteenth episode of season 25 of The Simpsons and the five-hundred and forty-fifth episode overall. It originally aired on March 23, 2014. The episode was written by Rob LaZebnik and directed by Steven Dean Moore. It guest stars Max von Sydow as Klaus Ziegler.

Synopsis[edit]
- "After Lisa's new pet guinea pig destroys the Simpsons' living room art, Marge falls in love with a beautiful painting at the Van Houten's yard sale, which Homer snaps up for 20 bucks. But, when Lisa reveals it's by a famous early 20th century painter and could be worth $100,000, Marge and Homer face a dilemma: split the money with the Van Houtens, or keep the cash as a "cushion" for their kids"

The table read for the episode possibly took place on June 16, 2013.[1]
The French studio where guest star Max von Sydow recorded his lines refuses to send the audio tracks until the check from FOX cleared.[2] The rocks through the window joke was written by Mike Scully.[3]
Reception[edit]
"The War of Art" was nominated for a 2014 Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Writing in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production. However, it lost to Mickey Mouse.[4]
