• The title is a reference to the film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
• The short is a parody of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
• Throughout the short, the song "The Avengers" by Alan Silvestri, from the film The Avengers, plays.
• In Asgard, the characters Heimdall, Sif, Fandral, Thor and Odin are seen.
• When Lisa is sent to Asgard, Fenris Wolf is seen. Lisa then wields Mjolnir, Thor's hammer.
• The Springfield Avengers are a parody of The Avengers.

  • Maggie is a parody of Disney's Tinker Bell.
  • Ned Flanders is a parody of Ant-Man.

• There are a couple of differences between the character designs on the poster and in the short:
  • Helen Lovejoy has blonde hair on the poster, but her usual grey hair in the short.
  • Agnes Skinner has red hair on the poster, but her usual grey hair in the short.
