- In the episode's original airing and on the DVD Around the World in 80 D'ohs, Kitenge's song is given English subtitles; however, they were removed from syndicated airings and the Season 12 DVD boxset. The Disney+ streaming service included the captions at some point.
Goofs[edit]
- For a brief moment when Bart is eating worms, his tongue is green.
- The neck rings Lisa is given is a tradition in Myanmar, not Tanzania.
- Bart's lip plate is an Ethiopian tradition for women in the Mursi tribe.
- Victoria Falls is in Zambia and Zimbabwe.
- There is no reason given why the family did not get food from the Kwik-E-Mart or any other convenience store that wasn't affected by the bag-boy strike.
