Synopsis[edit]

"Bart makes a new friend, a human brain."

Plot[edit]

Marge and Homer arrive at the Retirement Castle to inform Grampa that he's off the wait list as a better room opened up for him, however by better they meant for them, as it's way smaller but cheaper. When dividing what stuff to trash, donate or keep, Bart finds Grampa's old war stuff, and ask him to grab them, and goes to Herman's Military Antiques to sell them and Herman gives him $100 store credits. Bart goes to check on what to buy and finds a human brain and buys it.

Then, the opening sequence starts, with Bart using the brain in every scene to prank people. Afterwads, at school, Skinner and Chalmers present the innovations they did to State Comptroller Atkins, when Bart pranks them with the brain as the last meal on the line at the cafeteria, making all kids vomit and breaking Willie. Mrs. Peyton proposes as punishment to Skinner and Chalmers to have Bart take responsibility on the brain by bringing it to school every day and taking care of it, making it become homework for the next two weeks.

After miserable days at school and in general with the brain, to have some free time for himself, Bart asks Homer to babysit the brain. Homer takes it to Moe's, while he goes to Milhouse's to play games, but everything reminds him of the brain, so he goes back home, but Homer didn't bring the brain back. Moe reveals to Bart he left it in the alley for the racoons to eat, but the bullies took it and left nicotine beef jerky in its place.

At the Mattress King parking lot, the bullies almost make it explode, but Bart recovers it in time and names it Buddy, and takes it to eat at Luigi's too, but Luigi makes them go to a cellar to avoid issues with other customers. Back at home, Marge tells Homer her concerned about the situation, while at school the next day, Bart gets an A+, but Mrs. Peyton tells him he has to leave Buddy at school as the project has finished, but he refuses.

At the Try-N-Save, Homer is shopping at the candy aisle, and ears people calling him weirdo, "Brain Boy" and a town freak. Homer tells Marge about it at home, and Lisa proposes them to keep him locked up to avoid the others, and next morning they try to leave him behind when heading to church but Bart wakes up. At church they think they solved the problem, but Bart surprises everyone by entering with Buddy. The family makes matters worse and Bart get on the altar to proclaim his friendship but a label falls of the jar, revealing another underneath saying it's the brain of Corbin Everly, a tax accountant that donated his brain to science to Springfield University in 1975.

When Bart finds this out he let it go on a skateboard, departing with it, and Buddy arrives in the hand of Professor Frink, who recognizes it in front of the university. Seeing the scene from the bridge, Bart ironically calls him a weirdo. Afterwards, Marge takes Bart at a Community Center, where he joins an eccentric child support group, but seeing all the weird people in it, changes idea into getting ice cream instead.

Production[edit]

A B-story of Agnes moving out and Skinner taking in a trio of 20-something roommates was going to be produced at some point.[1]
