Level 7 (The Simpsons: Hit & Run)/References

Wikisimpsons - The Simpsons Wiki

Trivia[edit]

The game's data contains a number of beta audio tracks that would have been featured in this level:

  • The first track was likely intended to be played in the Stonecutters' Tunnel (which is blocked off in this level) because the sound quality is similar to the tunnel music in levels 1 and 4.
    • The music is a slowed down version of Toccata and Fugue.
    • The audio can be accessed during gameplay by using the "jumping car" cheat to escape the level's boundaries near the Nuclear Power Plant and then driving to where the Stonecutter's Tunnel would have likely been. [1]
  • The second track would have played if the player had failed the second half of "There's Something about Monty" when Homer has to climb into Mr. Burns' office. It is impossible to fail this part of the mission but the game's data suggests that there was originally a time limit to complete it. Unlike the other two, this track is actually used if the player fails during the extra mission of Level 6, though.
  • The third track can be accessed during gameplay in the same way as the first track, but instead driving outside the blocked off bridge and moving to around the area near Burns' Manor. It is unknown what this music was originally intended for.

Episode References In The Environment[edit]

Treehouse of Horror References[edit]

  • The house with the accessible garage nearby the Simpsons house is covered in graffiti-like inscriptions of "No TV and No Beer Make Homer Go Crazy" from "The Shinning" in "Treehouse of Horror V".
  • The Lard Lad mascot is mobilised atop the store, and has psychotic, glowing red eyes. This moving Lard Lad is reminiscent of the living mascot from "Attack Of The 50ft Eyesores" in "Treehouse of Horror VI".
