Synopsis[edit]
- Homer revitalizes Bumblebee Man's career when he becomes his secret stuntman. But how much punishment can a Stunt-Bee take before it starts to sting?
Plot[edit]
Bart and other kids are playing baseball and when Uter gets struck out, Comic Book Guy picks on him, but Mr. Zörker is sitting next to him and once he keeps insulting him they get on a fight. Police try to take Mr. Zörker in their car but he pushes them in instead, with the kids commenting how he's a badass and then start arguing how their father is better. Bart tries to make Homer look good but he is on a table scared of a goose. Disappointed, later at home, he watches Homer watch Great Mast British Bakeoff on TV, and proposes him to go watch a MMA fight at the Springfield Brawliseum, but Homer tries to refuse and tells him to go with Lisa but Marge threatens him to do laundry if he doesn't bond with him, so he accepts.
At the arena, Homer gets humiliated when he's shown on camera eating cotton candy during the "Most macho fan" camera moment and tries to kiss it like he's on Kiss cam, embarassing Bart, but when Bart tells him about it, Homer loses balance and falls down the stairs all the way to the ring where he falls on the martial artists, pinning them, winning the match. He gets applauded by the audience and Bumblebee Man invites him for dinner at the ¡Ay Carramba!, where after complementing Homer, he tells them the story of how he set off to be an actor instead of a comedian, but instead of being brought to Hollywood by the money hungry coyote, it brought him to Springfield.
He then got hired at Channel Ocho, as a cleaning man first, but when an accident happens and he gets put in his costume, people started laughing at what happened and his speech, and someone from the crew told him he's going to be a star and Bumblebee Man was born. He thought he was invincible but injuries to the body stumped his carreer. After seeing what Homer did at the arena, he asks him to become his stunt double and Homer accepts. He starts and it's a success. The rating start to ramp up, while Homer gets hit hard by the stunts, and at the East Springfield Swap Meet, when a kid asks to hit Bumblebee Man with a crowbar, he refuses saying it's a union thing, telling her she could hit Homer instead.
Homer comes back home with a bump on his head, and starts getting double vision, besides his fractured ribs, but is happy of getting hugged by Bart, who complains about not being able to brag about it to his friends thanks to the Non-disclosure agreement signed by Homer. At the Russo & Flank Grill, Homer and Bumblebee Man congratulates him on the work, but when Homer goes to the bathroom to pee blood, Bumblebee Man meets Johnny Knoxville from Jackass. Johnny tells him that his body can't take it anymore on the job and the studio suggested using a stuntman but he has refused, showing Bumblebee Man how he still got integrity.
Bumblebee Man starts doubting his choices saying he's a fraud and liar. He starts considering quitting but Alejandro González Iñárritu is on his porch, having found the script from the movie, Bee-Va Mexico that was scrapped by many when he proposed it and Bumblebee Man accepts. At the Hall of Mexcellence in Mexico City, after the press conference, he reveals to Alejandro his lie. Homer starts filming but his family gets concerned when he gets back at the hotel all broken and they expose the ruse to tv.
When exposed, Bumblebee Man asks everyone to see him filming live falling down the stairs of the Teotihuacan. Homer tries to convince him on top of the building and succeeds, but when they try to go back down, the tears from their eyes makes them slip and start falling down the stairs. Afterwards, at the Tacos Omeyocan, they find out they're in a coma, and start enjoying a pause from everything.
