New Jersey is one of the 50 states in the US. Its capital city is Trenton and its most populous city is Newark.

History

The mental patient saying he is Michael Jackson who comes to stay with the Simpsons family eventually reveals himself as Leon Kompowski, a bricklayer from Paterson, New Jersey.[1]

New Jersey was seen on a map when other contestants entering an essay competition were seen[2]

After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family was trying to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They were looking at a map of the US that had most of states crossed out, which were apparently all the states that the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter, which includes New Jersey.[3]

Homer drives with Bart to New Jersey to the Edison Museum initially to destroy Thomas Edison's chair with two hinged legs on the back, making it impossible to tip over backwards, but decides against it.[4]
