The Los Angeles Dodgers, formerly the Brooklyn Dodgers, are a current Major League Baseball (MLB) team in Los Angeles, California.
History
Former players Mike Scioscia and Darryl Strawberry played for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team.[1] Former Dodgers great, Sandy Koufax, was asked a question by Homer once on a radio show.[2]
When Homer arrived in India, he asked a woman where he was. She told him he was an ignorant American, who had confused India with Indiana, Indiana with Illinois, and the Cubs with the Dodgers.[3]
The Brooklyn Dodgers were on Mr. Burns' wish list.[4]
Former Dodger Kirk Gibson's walk-off home run against former Athletic closer Dennis Eckersley in game one of the 1988 World Series was once seen on television.[5]
In an attempt to get Aeropos Walkov to sign up with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Hollywood sign was changed to say "Hollywalkov." Danny Trejo recorded a video near the sign to try and convince Walkov to sign with them.[6]
Mrs. Krabappel told the class it was "Old Codger Day" the next day, but Bart brought in Mike Piazza because he thought she said "Old Dodger Day." Edna then asked the slugger if he ever got to second base with a schoolmarm.[7]
