One of the fighting drunks behind Kent Brockman wore a Boston Red Sox tank top.[6]

Knowing Denis Leary was a Boston Red Sox fan, he used Leary's cell phone to order a New York Yankees hat and Derek Jeter jersey, much to Leary's annoyance.[7]

Behind the Laughter[edit]

The Boston Red Sox are a baseball team that has been in the American League since their creation in 1901. The Yankees were originally the Boston Americans. The Boston Red Sox had a quick start and won many World Series championships, in 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916 and 1918. However, after that, the Red Sox came close in 1967 and 1986, but didn't win another World Series championship until 2004.

Former Red Sox player, Carlton Fisk, known for his walkoff home run in game six of the 1967 World Series chamionship, rejected an opportunity to be in "Homer at the Bat".[8]
