Kansas is one of the 50 states in the US. It's capital city is Topeka.
History
After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family was trying to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They were looking at a map of the US that had most of states crossed out, which were apparently all the states that the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter.[1]
Before becoming a student at Springfield Elementary School, Ethan All lived in Kansas.[2]

The Lewis and Clark expedition went through Kansas. Here, they were going to visit Moe's before it was destroyed by a tornado.[3]
