- The name of the episode is a reference to Road to ... film series starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
- Superintendent Chalmers was to give his keynote speech in the Procter & Gamble room.
- A sign on the bulletin board in the staff lounge reads "Netflix/Hulu Password Swap".
- Principal Finch knows somebody in Cincinnati that supports the Bengals, the American football team from that city.
- Skinner saw Finch's story on Instasnap, a play on Instagram and Snapchat.
- Air Cincinnati's plane has the colors of the Bengals.
- The movie Game Night plays on the plane. Jason Bateman reprised his role as one of the main characters, Max Davis.
- Skinner also mentions him and his role on the plane to Superintendent Chalmers.

- Both Mr. Largo and a resident of the Springfield Retirement Castle are seem in the dining room at the Tuckernuck Inn, despite the inn being away from Springfield.
