- The title and plot is a parody of Toy Story.
Into the Homer-verse
- The title and plot is a parody of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
- Homer Barbera is a parody of Yogi Bear and a reference to Hannah-Barbera.
- Homer mentions him sounding like Art Carney.
- Disney Princess Homer, including the crystal shoe and the pumpkin coach, is a parody of Cinderella, and his name is a reference to the Disney Princesses.
- Black and White Homer is a parody of Spider-Man Noir.
- 8-bit Homer is a parody of Mario, and he jumps on a building game, which is the Donkey Kong arcade game. He moves and dies the same way Mario does in the game.
- Green cat Homer is a parody of Snagglepuss and Huckleberry Hound.
- He says Three-eyed crow is a Tomegatroid, to which Homer asks what's a Megatroid, a reference to both the game series and enemy, Metroid, and the Metroid-style mobile game Megatroid.
