In the opening sequence (except when shortened or special episodes), Lisa is in band practice and starts playing an improvised solo on the baritone saxophone much to Mr. Largo's annoyance. Mr. Largo stops the rest of the band and sends Lisa out, but she never does leave quietly and pokes back through the doors of the music room to finish her last note. The solos are always different every episode. For a long time, Lisa's solos were provided by jazz baritone saxophonist Terry Harrington. The titles of the saxophone solos come via simpsonsarchive.com.
