Synopsis[edit]
- "When Bart discovers a profitable glitch in an online game, he ropes Principal Skinner into his lucrative criminal enterprise. Meanwhile Marge and Maggie discover paradise."
Plot[edit]
Bart is playing a violent video game in virtual reality when he starts swearing and using violent language. Marge stops him from playing anymore and sets him up with a new, kid-friendly, game, Boblox. Marge also lets Maggie play the game since the game is for all ages. Bart also gets Milhouse playing the game and the two of them realize that the game is glitchy on the old computer they are using to play it. When Milhouse sells an in-game mohawk for Bobux, the premium currency, he gets the mohawk back again. Bart realizes that this can be used to make money in the game and so they get other students at Springfield Elementary School together to start selling the mohawk for money. Meanwhile, Marge goes into Boblox and starts communicating with Maggie via emojis.
At school, Skinner finds out that the school's Internet speeds are being used. When he goes to the computer lab, he finds the students playing Boblox. Bart tries to convince Skinner to let them continue their scam and earn real money, some of which Skinner will get to improve the school. Bart gets Skinner to tell him about his dream for the school, to turn it into a magnet performing arts school. Skinner then agrees to help so he can make his dream a reality. Bart then explains the process of how they turn the Bobux into real money.
Marge and Maggie continue to communicate in Boblox and eventually Homer starts playing to see what is going on. At school, Skinner starts to get hard on the students, threatening Martin when he and Bart found out that Martin would be telling his parents about the Boblox scam. The students then continue the grift until they are attacked in-game by a group called the Sunflowers from another school. When Bart figures out that it's the Limitless Frontier Horizons school, he and Skinner go to try and talk the principal, Sandra, into stopping her students. However, they realize that Sandra isn't in charge of the school, but Truth-Anne is. Truth-Anne and Bart come to an agreement to split the territory in-game up, but Skinner refuses and declares war against the Sunflowers and fires Bart from the team.
Skinner makes Milhouse the new team leader for the war against the Sunflowers. Meanwhile, the feud between the two schools gets talked about on Let's Talk Boblox! With Astrid and French Fry. At the same time as the feud, Lisa ends up joining the game since Homer, Marge, and Maggie are in the game all the time. The students from Springfield Elementary start to lose the war badly, so Skinner goes to drastic measures to win. He hires a bulldozer and gets ready to demolish the Limitless Frontier Horizons computer lab with it. Bart stops him from doing so and the two of them drive off together.
When Ned notices that the Simpsons' newspapers have been piling up, he goes into the house to find out what's wrong with the family. He finds Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie glued to their screens so he backs away and runs out of the house.
