Synopsis

"Lisa is scouted by the director of the Capitol City Philharmonic, to her band teacher's dismay. Homer works extra shifts at the plant so Lisa can play, putting strain on the family."

Plot

A panoramic of Springfield is shown, with a billboard saying Welcome to Springfield. Come for Whacking Day, stay for the snake chowder and a text engraved in the corn field next to Cletus's farm saying Corn likker sold here, before zooming in the Springfield Academy of Music, where the class of 1999 are graduating, where Dewey Largo is one of the winners of the Golden Baton Award, but Gustavo Dudumel, the other winner, strangles him in dark energy after the university president says to him he's going to be just a school teacher.
