Statue of Jebediah Springfield
| ||
Location Information
|
The Statue of Jebediah Springfield is in Springfield Town Square.
Background
The statue depicted the town founder Jebediah Springfield standing over a dead bear after killing it with its bare hands, reflecting a popular folk tale involving Jebediah Springfield (however, recent studies suggested that the bear actually killed him instead).
History
Bart Simpson once stole the head of the statue, causing public outrage. He did this because he thought Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney would think it was cool. However, they later said that it was just cloud talk, and Bart later puts the head back onto the statue.[1]
The statue was unscathed by the events of Trappuccino, which sent the entire town into ruin. Around the time of Trappuccino, the bear on the statue had three eyes (similar to Blinky).[2]

The Simpsons: Tapped Out
If you tap on Homer ten times while his job menu is open, a message will pop up. You will get ten donuts and the Jebediah Statue (which you cannot get in any other way). It is also mentioned in The Simpsons: Tapped Out trailer and is one of the most commonly known secret features.

The statue appears in the new HD opening sequence. Ironically, the opening sequence involves Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney sawing the statue's head off, which falls on top of Ralph Wiggum (who says something different every time).
