History[edit]

When Bart was phoning various countries in the Southern Hemisphere to ask if their water drained clockwise, Chile was one of the countries seen on his globe.

When Homer eventually gets the phone bill, one of the places listed is Santiago, Chile.[1]

Captain Horatio McCallister misguided plan for Mr. Burns' casino involved sailing around Cape Horn and returning with spices and silk.[2]
