History[edit]
After noticing Marge's reaction to a childhood video showing her and her family vacationing at Barnacle Bay, Homer and the kids decide to take her there as a surprise. When they get to the island, however, instead of a thriving tourist attraction they find a dilapidated town whose economy was ruined when their main natural resource, the Yum-Yum Fish, suddenly disappeared. Having no other major resources to make income off of the island quickly sank into disrepair. As the Simpsons walked down a pier, they saw a number of fishing boats that are were in very rough shape and covered with algae and kelp.
The Empty Net was a small, mostly wooden fishing boat. It sat between The Wasted Bait and The Rotting Pelican.
