Contents
Summary
The Simpsons host a tastemaker party at their home to promote Absolut Krusty, Krusty the Clown's own brand of liquor. Mr. Burns takes notice of the party's success and decides to promote Homer to "Account Man" for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Robert Marlow, a seasoned account veteran, takes Homer under his wing and shows Homer what the high life is like in the corner office. When Homer's long hours at the office become the norm, a family vacation with Marge and the kids help him realize that family always comes before work.
Plot
Krusty announces on The Krusty the Clown Show that he wants a family to hold a party in their house to promote his vodka brand, Abolut Krusty. Bart enters the competition and wins. Bart is then told that he can only have one friend come to the party, even though he won the competition and that they must stay out of the way.
At the party, Mr. Burns comes along, scaring a lot of the guests off. After seeing how Homer is with the guests, Mr. Burns decides to promote Homer to accountant and is given his own office and secretary, Dotty, in the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant Executives Building. Mr. Burns also asks former accountant Robert Marlow to show Homer the ropes.
Homer starts working, drinking Bourbon to help him get through important meetings and to loosen up. He starts spending less time with his family and coming home late. After coming home late one night, Homer and Marge tell Bart to read to Lisa and Lisa ends up teaching Bart how to read Little Women and he eventually ends up reading this to the school bullies.
Eventually, Marge, who is now fed up of this new Homer, asks for him to go on vacation with them. At the same time, Homer decides to take the Nuclear regulators to the same vacation spot they are going, Rattler River Canyon. As both rafts are about to go over a waterfall, Homer has a choice to make. Save his family or work. He chooses to save his family and Robert Marlow saves Mr. Burns before they go over the waterfall.
Reception
It was rated TV-14-DLSV. It gathered 5.61 million viewers in the US on its premiere.[1]
