KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is an American chain of fried chicken fast food restaurants and the world's largest of its kind. It was founded in 1952 by Colonel Sanders.

1993 promotion

KFC Canada developed several collaborations with The Simpsons, beginning in 1993 with a promotional campaign that included two original animated commercials and collectible drinkware.

The first commercial promoted a special offer in which customers received a free bottle of 7 Up with the purchase of a 15-piece bucket of chicken. The advertisement featured Homer purchasing the meal and mistakenly believing he had stolen the drink because it was not charged separately. The second commercial promoted a Popcorn Chicken Combo that included a free The Simpsons collector cup. In the advertisement, Homer attempts to escape from the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant to visit KFC, only to find that Mr. Burns has already obtained the promotional cup. The campaign included a set of four reusable plastic cups featuring Homer, Bart, Lisa, and Marge, each decorated with character artwork and a themed phrase. Collectors have identified the phrases as “No Problemo” (Homer), “No Way, Man” (Bart), “Oh, Brother!” (Lisa), and “Come ’N’ Get It” (Marge).

20th Anniversary toys

2009 promotion

In 2009, KFC Canada released a collection celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons. The promotion consisted of six collectible figures: Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson, Bart Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Krusty the Clown, and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. The figures were distributed individually in packaging featuring The Simpsons 20th Anniversary branding and became a notable Canadian fast-food collectible.

1997 promotion

KFC Australia released several The Simpsons promotions during the late 1990s, including exclusive toys, cups, and localized advertising campaigns.

In 1997, KFC Kids' Meals featured the Sandcastle Set, a beach-themed collectible made of four interlocking plastic pieces. The set included Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie, which together formed a complete Simpsons sandcastle. Unlike traditional fast-food toys, the pieces were designed to connect into one larger display item.

1998 promotion

In early 1998, KFC Australia adapted the two Canadian 1993 The Simpsons commercials for the Australian market. The first advertisement reused the Canadian Homer-at-KFC footage promoting the 7 Up offer, but changed the details for Australia, including the use of a 1.25-litre bottle instead of the Canadian 2-litre promotion.

The second Australian adaptation reused footage from the Canadian collector cup commercial but changed the ending to promote Australian The Simpsons cups. The commercial existed in different versions: most Australian locations promoted the regular collectible cups, while other locations had an additional Topper & Cup promotion featuring character toppers, including Lisa toppers shown in the commercial. In the Topper & Cup version, the original Mr. Burns storyline was replaced with footage advertising the toppers and cups. Collector listings confirm the existence of 1998 Australian The Simpsons promotional cups with interchangeable character tops, including Homer, Bart, Lisa, and Marge designs.

United Kingdom

Get Sporty with The Simpsons

KFC United Kingdom released two major The Simpsons Kids' Meal toy collections.

The first was Get Sporty with The Simpsons (2003), a five-piece set featuring interactive sports-themed toys:

• Bowlin' Homer – a pull-back bowling game where Homer knocks down pins.
• Tennis Marge – a rotating tennis game featuring Marge hitting a ball toward a Homer target.
• Skateboard Bart – a launcher toy where Bart rides across spinning character targets.
• Ice Hockey Lisa – a tabletop hockey game inspired by Lisa’s role as a goalie in the episode “Lisa on Ice.”
• Mini Golf Maggie – a miniature golf-style pinball game.

The collection was notable because each toy had a functional game mechanism rather than being a simple figurine.

All Aboard with The Simpsons

In late 2004 and early 2005, KFC released All Aboard with The Simpsons, another Kids' Meal promotion with a winter theme. The collection included:
