- Mr. Burn's "hot dog" line is recycled from "Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish".
- This episode marks the first time the United States uses the full version of the current theme music.
- Some of the things Bart plans to use the $5,200 for are: drive a monster truck, sky write "Eat my shorts" with a jetpack and drink a cement truck full of frosty chocolate milkshake. The frosty chocolate milkshake is a reference to the Simpsons shorts.
