When Homer rolls from the stairs, it mimics the iconic scene where Indy has to stay ahead from a huge rolling boulder in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
- The scene where Bart steals Homer's change jar parodies the famous sequence from the Indiana Jones film Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
