"You Don't Have to Live Like a Referee" is the sixteenth episode of season 25 of The Simpsons and the five-hundred and forty-sixth episode overall. It originally aired on March 30, 2014. The episode was written by Michael Price and directed by Mark Kirkland. It guest stars Andrés Cantor as himself.
Synopsis[edit]
- "Pressed for a topic at a Springfield Elementary School speech contest, Lisa gives a speech where she praises Homer's honesty and integrity as a soccer referee. A video of her speech goes viral on the Internet, and FIFA officials recruit Homer to referee the World Cup in Brazil. The Simpson family go to Brazil, where Homer is quickly lauded by commentators for his fair and honest officiating. However, his integrity is quickly put to the test by the bribery attempts of local gangsters seeking to influence the outcome of the World Cup. Meanwhile, Marge struggles to learn enough Portuguese to make herself understood in Brazil."
