Cultural references[edit]
- The name of the segment "The Day the Earth Looked Stupid" is an obvious reference to the movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still".
- The opening segment is a parody of the Tales from the Cryptkeeper television show, and even uses its theme music.
- The Golem bears a very strong resemblance to the Golem of the three silent The Golem movies, which were made in Germany and came out in 1915, 1917 and 1920.
- "The Day the Earth Looked Stupid" is very likely a reference to the Fallout series, as the whole city of Springfield is turned into a post-apocalyptic world after the alien attack.
