Plot
The Simpson family are eating at The Lentil Institution, a vegan restaurant, kissing up to Lisa to make a choice on her "Most interesting person I know" paper, but she chooses Professor Frink, devoting to helping the world through science.
At Springfield University, Lisa visits and interviews Frink. After explaining the story of his life, Frink says to Lisa he's developing a new cryptocurrency, Frinkcoin. He shows her a video of Jim Parsons explaining how cryptocurrency works.
Frinkcoin becomes famous and Frink becomes the richest man in town, enraging Mr. Burns. Frink however feels empty insides so Lisa tries to help him, and he moves from his University office to Chicago, but still feels sad, so Lisa suggests Homer takes him to Moe's.
Frink aces Moe's trivia questions and earns the respect and friendship of the barflies, while Smithers assembles a team of nerds to create Burns Coin. Burns is angry at Smithers cause he started calling him by Monty instead of Mr. Burns and he searches help at a support group.
Frink brings his new friends to Springfield's finest establishments while Mr. Burns is more angry as the nerds for being late, but they created a formula to render all cryptocurrency worthless, but the calculations would take 90,000 years. Instead Burns decides he is going to break Frink's spirit.
Mr. Burns lands his helecopter on Frink's yacht. He invites Frink for a glass of champagne from space. Inside the helecopter, Burns instills upon Frink the doubt that he would never know if anybody really likes him, or his money. In the final chapter of her interview, Lisa tells Frink how cruel and ruthless Burns really is and to not listen to him.
Burns brings the nerds' equation in the center of town, in front of the Jebediah Springfield's statue to have the people of Springfield solve it. Meanwhile, Frink tests his friends to see if they're really his friends, with all of them failing to do so.
A solution to the equation gets posted on the billboard and the person that solved it was Frink himself. Lisa and Frink find themselves becoming best friends, though Frink realizes he just lost all his money with the action. In the end he returns to the University and kisses the woman who he worked with there.
